My past fine art education was with two art academies, The Dayton Art Academy and Cincinnati Art Academy, in Ohio. I also have a commercial art background. I attended Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati. I found this combination of schools of thought helped me in being a little more creative and more marketable in earning a living.
Employed as a commercial artist for 20 years, I decided to start my own design studio. The business grew in the 20 years of ownership and was then sold. After retirement, I renewed my joy of painting. The majority of the subject matter in my paintings is people and situations. I consider myself a realist with a modern technique and style. My medium is acrylic on stretched canvas. Combining the two schools of thought allows me to communicate images from the other person’s point of view as well as my own.
