Award-winning filmmaker, painter, and photographer Sarah Singh moved from India to the US in 1974. She studied fine art at Parsons School of Design in New York and Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore. Her first solo show was held in Bombay, India in 1996. Most recently, Sarah had four photography shows between 2009-2010. Singh’s paintings, drawings, and photography are in private collections around the world.

THE SKY BELOW, her award-winning film has screened all over the world in renowned venues like the V&A Museum, Carnegie Endowment, Queensland Museum, Asian Civilizations Museum, Stanford University, Oxford, Asia Society and many other cultural venues, universities, and film festivals from Santa Barbara to Singapore. In addition to winning Best Film Debut at South Asia’s largest documentary festival, THE SKY BELOW was also nominated for the Social Justice Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
