As an environmental artist from Dallas, I work in a variety of genres such as photography, printmaking, sculpture, installation and video art. I collect wood cuttings and logs from the "brush & bulk" trash that would go to the city landfill. I find wood remnants, like the ones in these photographs, and use them as a starting point to explore issues of climate change. Trees are important because their presence can provide valuable information about the climate in an environment. I use scientific methods in my artistic process, but I'm not a scientist.
