Marc Standing was born in Zimbabwe and spent his formative years in Africa. He obtained his BAFA Honours Degree in painting from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. In 2005 he immigrated to Australia but has spent the last six years in Hong Kong. Standing is predominantly a painter but also works with paper, collage and sculpture. His works have been shown extensively throughout Australia and have also been included in prominent Australian art prizes, as well as a commission work for The Groucho Club in London, a nominee for the Sovereign Asian Art Prize, and acquired by Artbank in Australia. His work has also been exhibited in New York, London, Holland, Hong Kong, South Africa and Zimbabwe.'
