Susan Verekar, a native of Portland, Oregon, was discovered as a youth for having significant musical talent. She has always been drawn to color, even hearing music as different shades and hues. After college, she explored other fields and while she achieved success, something was always missing. She moved to Tennessee and started painting, falling in love with the raw emotion and self expression of exploring color and angles.
Susan’s art is about the power and beauty of self identity and discovery. Viewers are most drawn to her work for the incredible depth that she achieves through layers and her use of a limited palette. Collectors often comment on how unique Susan’s art is and how intensely drawn they are to a piece due to its ability to feel very comforting.
She lives in Maryville, Tennessee with her family and her future plans include a VR exhibition of her work.
