Sheila White Guevin was raised in a small paper mill town in PA. She received a BS in Radio/TV with an advertising minor from Murray State University, Murray, KY.
Over the years, she has been a resident of PA, KY, CT, VA, NV, MD, AL, CO and HI.
Her photography spans more than 30 years, which is reflected in her digital technic and her ability to clearly capture a moment and suspend it in time. She is known for her quirky portrait work as well as fine art photography. Her use of color from vibrant to stark elevates the emotional impact as the viewer gets a glimpse of her world.
Guevin strives to master the art of photography, to understand and use aesthetics intelligently and to develop and deepen her personal vision and communicate it through her art.
Guevin is a member of Maryland Federation of Art; Anne Arundel Arts Council; and Bay Country Art Guild.
Her photography is featured in numerous galleries and exhibitions including the Circle Gallery, Annapolis, MD; Side Street Framers, Severna Park, MD; Annapolis Maritime Museum, Annapolis, MD; and at the Baltimore Washington International Airport.
Guevin is a staff photographer for Living in the Circle magazine.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, she and her Yorkie, Ladybug, are a Pet Partners therapy dog team. Their volunteer resume includes working at military hospitals, Crofton Library, Belvoir Library, rehab units, nursing homes, public events, American Red Cross, American Humane Association, Delta Society, and Pet Partners. Ladybug holds two AKC titles in obedience and therapy. Her work as a reading partner for children was highlighted in the Capital Gazette. Ladybug, along with her therapy dog friends Olive and Pepe were invited guests on Capitol Hill appearing before Congress; and featured by several news outlets including USA Today.
