I work to develop open and experimental paintings and to participate in an active narrative with the natural world using plants, patterns and forms as metaphoric characters traversing and bridging new spaces, territories and relationships.
Teresa Cox holds a BS in Studio Arts from the University of Wisconsin Stout with concentrations in painting in drawing. She has exhibited in the US at galleries, universities and art centers including the Albuquerque Museum of Art in New Mexico, the Drawing Center in Chelsea, New York and abroad at the Fortezza de Basso in Florence Italy. Cox has completed numerous public art installations with her most recent sited across from the Mall of America in Bloomington Minnesota. She is both a 2018 recipient of an Artist Initiative Grant through the Minnesota State Arts Board and a Sam and Adele Golden Foundation Residency among others. Her artwork is in public and private collections in the US, Taiwan, Germany and Australia.
