As a young child we moved a lot within New York and I experienced city dwelling in Brooklyn and NYC's Lower East Side as well as rural and village life. When I was seven my parents took our family to California in a small house trailer taking weeks to "see the country". Fortunately I was academically quick (missing lots of school) and could entertain myself with drawing. When my father gave me oil paints at ten I found the life "beyond the lines" and have been combining both...masses/abstractions with lines and representations ever since. I often paint in my head and as one neighbor said, trying to be funny, "out of my head". There is nothing as fine as messing with paints and prints....endlessly intriguing. There is nothing as fulfilling as finding a person who connects with one's work.
