Valerie Pantalone is a painter who focuses on colorful landscapes working in oil, acrylic and watercolors. Despite a setback following a diagnosis of fibromyalgia that took its toll, preventing her from painting for five years, she has benefitted from a treatment program and recovered enough to be back to her usual self - and her artwork.
Born in Philadelphia, she grew up in southern New Jersey as a fifth-generation Italian American. She studied printmaking/book arts at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia but left the program in her senior year due to illness. She went on to Rowan University College of Art and Design for art education but found that teaching art wasn't in her heart. Ultimately, she earned a bachelor’s in art minus the education aspect. It was at Rowan University that she discovered her love for painting, nature, and color, which have developed into her art practice.
Pantalone currently lives just 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia on the Southern New Jersey side with her husband and two cats, an orange tabby cat named Boba Fett (the greatest bounty hunter in all the galaxy) and a black cat named Mischief. She continues growing her art practice and exhibits in the Philadelphia area.
