Yacou was born and raised in West Africa (in Burkina-Faso and the Ivory Coast), and now lives in Washington, D.C.

His work has been exhibited at FotoWeek D.C. Central. His clients and the publications that have profiled his work include: The Washington Post Magazine, The National Gallery of Art, The American Society of Picture Professionals, The High Life (British Airways Inflight Magazines), The Outside Magazine, Coastal Living Magazine, The Washingtonian Magazine, and The Office of the First Lady of the Ivory Coast.
