Denis A. Yanashot was born an identical twin on August 7, 1954 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. While in college and many years afterward he specialized in painting. He specialized in airbrush, touch-up and production line spray gun techniques in executing his paintings on large canvases and Masonite.
He graduated from Marywood College in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education. During his college years and thereafter, he worked on the development of personalized techniques of masking and spraying acrylic lacquers in the execution of his paintings. His work has been exhibited in one man shows and group shows in the Northeast United States.
In 2000, sculpture became the focal point of his artistic expression. Stone carving and welded steel are of particular interest to him sculpturally.
Currently he is primarily engaged in the direct carving of stone.
