American Needlepoint Guild

The American needlepoint Guild will celebrate it's 40th anniversary in 2012. The guild is dedicated to educational and cultural development through participation in and encouragement of interest in the art of needlepoint. ANG defines needlepoint as any counted or free stitchery worked by hand with a threaded needle on a readily countable ground.

America has been a leader in the art of original needlepoint and painted canvases. The Guild encourages its members to create original work, and creatively embellish painted designs. Each year there is a National Seminar with an Exhibit that has had from 125-300 pieces entered in different categories.

The Guild would be honored to create an Exhibition for the Art in Embassies program. This will enable other countries to see the innovations our American artists have created in the field of canvaswork.
