Biljana Jurukovski

Biljana Jurukovskiis is a freelance world acclaimed photographer based in the Sydney, Australia who gave up her executive management position in an aged care indystry to pursue her passion for documenting the culture, traditions of the last tribes in Africa that retained their culture. Biljana’s photography showcases a deep commitment to documenting s cultural traditions, and communities facing endangerment or marginalization on a global scale.Biljana independently assigns, funds, researches and writes her own work.
In 2020, one of Biljana’s photographs “ In The Name Of The Tribe” was selected to be sent to the FIRST EXHIBITION IN SPACE “ Send to Space”,to broadcast a message of peace and unity from humankind to infinity. Biljana’ s photography has gained international recognition, with her work appearing in international publications like The Guardian, Lens Culture Magazine, Sydney Morning Herald, Portraits of Humanity, British Journal of photography, SilverShootz, Australian Photography Magazine . Biljana ’s work has been displayed on exhibitions in UAE, Berlin, Barcelona, Museum of R.Macedonia, Sydney

Biljana jurukovski is a self-taught photographer with an Masters in Health Services management from UWS in Sydney. As a woman photographer, I have consistently pushed the boundaries of my craft, delving into areas and topics that have traditionally been covered by male photographers. My work strives to challenge stereotypes and bring forth a fresh perspective on the narratives that shape our understanding of Africa and its people.
