Memphis-based artist Danny Broadway was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and received his BFA from The University of Memphis in 2001. As a young boy Danny was very quiet yet creative. He would always enjoy drawing and loved coloring. Encouraged by his Junior High and High School art teachers to take his artwork seriously, he developed a passion to learn more about what was artistically possible. While growing up Broadway still continued to keep his quiet demeanor while learning to combine drawing with painting in college. He used painting to develop a stronger voice to support his quiet nature. His work draws inspiration from his spirituality, southern roots, historical themes, family stories, current issues, people, music, sounds, moods, and inspirational readings.
