The Paintings of Chris Byrd explore ideas of Identity that come about through the
contemplation of the self existing in the contemporary world. Bringing together ideas from the recent past of all-over Abstraction yet made current by the systemization of Arts formal language of line, color and form, rendered in a graphic, hard-edged presentation that eludes to the omnipresent language of design and advertising, at once making the work Classical and Contemporary. He holds a Master of Fine Art from American University in Washington, DC and
a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Atlanta College of Art in Atlanta, Georgia. The artist lives and works in Miami, Florida
