Stealing time from the rearing of four children, Carol Jones Brown began studying oil painting at the local art center. She exhibited early in local venues, attended workshops in a number of Western cities, eventually switching to acrylics and collage. Her painting evolved over the years from representational images to abstraction. In her more than 50-year career, she has taught art to children and senior citizens, participated in a variety of local and regional art groups and watched her work go to private collections in the US and Europe. She is editor of the monthly newsletter for a Castro Valley art organization and orchestrates a monthly critique group. She is represented in Berkeley, CA., by Expressions Gallery.
