Cara Enteles is best known for her nature, landscape paintings on Aluminum and Plexiglas panels. “My work is the result of my fascination and study of the natural world. Living in the Western Catskills, nature is abundant. My work is inspired by my experiences of this landscape” as well as those seen traveling.
Enteles has developed a unique painting technique that incorporates silkscreen printing with oil painting. “I have a library of my found botanical specimens which I have made into silkscreens and use in the paintings.”
She paints on subtly reflective aluminum panels or translucent plexiglas. The choice of these substrates is deliberate, contrasting the organic imagery and creating a painting that changes slightly with the light, mimicking nature.
Underlying these seemingly beautiful paintings, Enteles infuses her thoughts on environmental issues such as invasive species and threats to pollinators. “In my mind the trees and plants of the paintings represent nature as a being. They exude power that humanity often manipulates. I aim to be an advocate for nature.”

Enteles's work is exhibited nationwide and in Europe. The Artist is featured in many Public Collections including Penn State Medical Centers, Microsoft, Boston Children’s Hospital,The Norwegian Cruise Line and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital among others, and many private collections. Enteles believes in public art. She created a large public art commission for the MTA Arts and Design program. “Commuting Through Nature” which is a permanent install in laminated glass, creating the structure of the Merillon Avenue LIRR station in Garden City, NY. She is currently working on a public commission for the Apple Valley Elementary School in Yakima, Washington.
Recent honors include the Art in Embassies program 2024 and inclusion in the book “Contemporary Art Underground” Phaidon press 2024.
Her work has been shown at Wave Hill, The Hudson Valley Contemporary Art Center, The Long Island Museum and The Islip Art Museum and the DVAA. She earned her BFA from Parsons School of Design and has also studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
She is represented by Amy Simon Fine Art in Connecticut, Sara Nightingale Gallery in New York and Walker Fine Art in Denver. In the UK and Europe she is represented by Strange Tracey Gallery.
