Clairan Ferrono is a mixed media artist living in Chicago. She creates abstract art using commercial fabrics and cloth she produces using surface design techniques: dye, paint, print and stitch, both hand and machine. In 2004 she was awarded an exhibition grant by the IL chapter National Museum of Women in the Arts. Her work has appeared in Women in the Arts (Spring 2005) and in Craft Report (January 2007). One of her pieces appears in the book 500 Art Quilts. Currently three of her artworks hang in the American Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire. The curator of SAQA’s exhibits Reflections, and Sightlines, she also curates exhibits for Fiber Artists Coalition (FAC).
