I am a self taught artist and I love the arts!!! I recently re-visited my passion for the visual arts after my mom became ill & subsequently passes away.
I believe it is the artist's responsibility to call forth beauty from places and spaces where there is no beauty.
My first painting (after a nearly 40 year hiatus) is entitled, "winds of change." I got such positive feedback from the piece that I decided to continue. My primary preference is acrylic on canvas.
It will be nearly a year and I'm happy to report that my work has showcased at our city's transit center, the executive office and our city's foundation. This coming year I will have a solo exhibit at Kent State University, my alma mater. The exhibit is entitled, "a mother's song" in honor of my late mother.
I am excited for the opportunity to show my work to the many who need the lift, the brightness and encouragement the art brings.
Although I may not have an extensive portfolio I am still convinced that my art speaks to the heart.
