Doug Meyer attended welding school, graduating from the Job Corps in 1998 with a Combination Welder certification. He used these skills to build his own bikes, furniture, and automobile modifications, growing his customer base until jumping into self-employment in 2010 under the moniker Rustbelt Rebirth. Since then, Doug has exhibited his furniture and sculptural works at fine art and craft shows in his native northeast Ohio and around the country. Doug was awarded two consecutive Awards of Excellence in the 2013 American Craft Council shows for Baltimore and Atlanta. He currently resides in Warren, Ohio where he works out of his warehouse studio.
