Elizabeth Briel

From hand-printed blue photos of disappearing places to paintings in different languages, EBriel's work is an exploration of Asia and beyond. In Cambodia she taught photography to street children with the Angkor Photo Festival; in Hong Kong she founded a community gallery, and now she is building a Creative Residency in Sicily.

ThingsAsian Press has published her illustrations and photos, and in 2011 will release a book of travel stories from her search for handmade paper. EBriel experiments with ways to connect artists to communities, and building bridges of understanding between West, East and places in between.
