Visual artist, writer, poet and color visionary. After studies in painting and art history moved to Florence italy, Engaging in independent study of renaissance art and architecture in the museums and churches throughout Tuscany. In 2010 she was granted a year long residency at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico to paint and write in the American Southwest.
Influences are color, “absorbed DNA” of the diaspora ,The Vienna Secessionist Movement, Paris expressionism of the early 1900‘s, music of the African American aesthetic from Miles to Motown, the work of Jacob Lawrence, Lois Mailou Jones, and Romere Bearden. Color, shape and form are evident in the work. Varied interests, and life experiences have produce an artist who sees the world through the eyes of a dreamer finding color, music and sensuality in everything she creates.
