Jenn Pascoe

J. Pascoe is a multi-media artist living and working Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Pascoe received her BFA in Intermedia from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. While there she learned about the building and creating of art and, more importantly, ideas.

Her work over the last few years has dealt with examining ideas around the condition of the Modern man – alienation, over-stimulation, and perception of the external and internal worlds in a person’s life. This has led to new work concerning the dualities present in Man’s existence: how distinctly individual our lives are and at the same time completely universal.

With a background in painting and drawing Pascoe believes that evidence of the hand must be present in all of her work – currently printmaking, book arts, and installation.

She feels it is important to be firmly grounded in the historical and contemporary artistic practices surrounding her work and as such currently writes for the Art21 blog’s “Open Enrollment” column and is a regular contributor to the Printeresing.org blog.

Pascoe is currently working towards her MFA in Bookarts and Printmaking from the University of the Arts and is expected to graduate April 2013.
