John has been an architect, along with his wife and partner Patricia, for more than 40 years and has been recognized with numerous awards including the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Gold Medal for lifetime achievement. In 1996, John and Patricia represented Canada at the Venice Biennale. The artwork is an outgrowth of John’s relentless curiosity and attention to material possibilities.
