Born in Mt. Kisco, NY, Justin Griffin grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland in1999 with a BS in Oceanography. He served as a Navy jet pilot aboard numerous aircraft carriers, deploying in support of our country's missions overseas. He has painted oils his entire life, capturing the world he has seen from an early age. As a young student, he received numerous accolades and early recognition in print for his work both painting and mentoring other students in after school programs. During his naval career, he continues to produce oil paintings that draw praise and inspire. Commander Griffin holds two master's degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School and the Naval War College. He has a wife and two sons who are frequent subjects of his work.
