J. Dule is an oil painter and sculptor. He was born in New York City. After college he attended the University of Minnesota where he received his Ph.D. He studied under regional artist and colorist Eric Loper at the Delaware Art Institute, and received additional art training in the Art Students League of New York. After a stint in the Army, Dule came back to New York for good. His first artistic success as a painter were shows in New York City in the eighties. He has had several solo shows in New York highlighting his abstract oil paintings and metal sculptures. He continues to be a prolific painter of edgy abstract art, and his paintings are represented in several galleries and corporations in the U.S.
With a lengthy and notable resume, Dule has exhibited widely in solo, group and juried shows, frequently in New York City and Connecticut. Along with many private collectors, Dule's art is in the corporate collections of TriMark Publications, Third Avenue Productions, in addition to the permanent collection of the New York Institute of Technology. Dule has received the honor of being selected to the National Arts Club in New York City. His paintings have been featured on Sino TV, and shown across China.
His artistic explorations have included the mediums of painting, film, video, writing, theater, photography, and sculpture. He has produced and directed several short films and videos; and has also produced and written twelve plays.
Dule currently works out of his studio located in Waterford, CT.
