Jowita Wyszomirska is an interdisciplinary artist working in the areas of drawing and large scale
installations. She is captivated by the motion and stillness of Nature and its unseen forces and infuses
her work with information from satellite imagery, weather patterns, maps, and other data combined
with impressions of physical landscapes. Moving between representation and abstraction, her work
focuses on and then conceptualizes our landscapes, bringing together aesthetics and ecological
concerns. She received her BFA at Illinois State University and her MFA from the University of Maryland.
She has exhibited nationally in solo and two-person exhibitions. Her honors include many residencies
fellowships.
