Kristine Rubin

I was born in Washington DC in 1952. All the cities museums became a resource for my education and I believe provided a high bar for what I wanted to achieve in my painting.
I had a wealth of instruction from private artist's studios in pastels, water colors, oil painting and years of drawing. I received my first request for a sale of my work at the show of the Saturday school at the Corcoran Gallery when I was eleven. My first two commissions were in High School in Bethesda for a portrait for the Football Coach, the other was a commission for a painting of a beloved pet from a co-worker of my father.
I started out as a Classics Major at Franklin and Marshall in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, later transferring to the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore graduating with a BFA.
I resumed painting seriously about 6 years ago but have sold my work consistently for years.
