Katherine Grossfeld received her Master of Fine Arts Degree and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The University of Denver, with studies at Studio Art Centers International, Florence, Italy. Grossfeld taught Life Drawing at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and served on critique panels for undergraduates.
Twice, Grossfeld's work has been published in New American Paintings. Released in 2020, the short story anthology Visions of Life 2 featured one of her paintings as inspiration for a story. She was featured in the 2005 book Living Artists by Crow Woods Publishing, Chicago. Grossfeld was also included in a regional survey of contemporary still life organized by Columbus College of Art & Design, entitled The Object Considered: Contemporary Still Life in Ohio, Illinois and Indiana. She has been interviewed on television, her work has been reviewed in newspapers, and she has served as a guest lecturer. Grossfeld has been the recipient of a Regional Artist Project Grant from the United Arts Council of Raleigh, and an Art Appreciation Grant from Nippon Steel USA.
Grossfeld exhibits nationally and internationally. Her work is held in many private collections. She lives in North Carolina.
