Lucie Pentz

I was born and raised in the Czech Republic (then Czechoslovakia), in the region called Silesia. As the Czech saying goes "zlate ceske rucicky" which means "golden Czech hands" implying the long tradition of artistry and craftsmanship in my homeland. My mom was a book binder, seamstress and a lady of various talents. Growing up I dabbled in various forms of art making--painting, drawing, linoleum printing, but I have found my home with fabric. I am inspired by various themes--cultural and spiritual heritage, places, nature, but most of all people. I have been so lucky to make my home in beautiful southern Pennsylvania, surrounded by the Amish quilting tradition and beautiful countryside.
