Lynn Payne's art can be described as representational with touches of Impressionism. She derives inspiration from her surroundings whether in her home or travels. Color is a key component to her paintings and she strives to use it freely. Her subjects range from people, still life to landscape. The West Virginia scenery often plays a role in her choice of subject matter. Lynn has created art all her life. She received training in illustration and design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. The magnified quality of Georgia O'Keefe's flower paintings and the light that Claude Monet captured in his landscapes are primary influences in her work. Her paintings have appeared on greeting cards, book covers and needlepoint canvases.
