Originally from Dallas, Texas, artist Jason Mehl has spent the better part of a decade exploring the world while creating art. Mehl has produced work since the mid 90's, and began exhibiting in 2007.
After graduating in 2002 with a degree in Environmental Science from Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, TX, most of Mehl's twenties were spent traveling around the rapidly vanishing wildernesses of North America. Living out of tents, hammocks, and a truck seeking natural areas—areas with silence and solitude-- places where dynamic forces create intriguing patterns over time.
From 2008, Mehl lived in South Korea for five years where he produced and exhibited a body of sculpture. In 2013, he closed his Seoul studio and returned home to Dallas with a shipping container full of his work, where he continues to work and exhibit.
