Michael Croman

I was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1939 and lived in Boston until 1950 when my family moved to New Haven, Connecticut.
In 1980 I moved to Olympia, Washington where I live today.

I am a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University with a B.S. degree in Art Education. I taught art in junior and senior high schools in Connecticut and New York. I served as the Exhibits Manager of the Museum of Art, Science & Industry in Bridgeport, Connecticut. From 1970 to 1980 I served as the Assistant Director of the Connecticut Commission on the Arts and from 1980 to 1989, I was the Executive Director of the Washington State Arts Commission.

I have been painting and exhibiting professionaly since 1961 in Connecticut, New York, Oregon and Washington. I am currently a member of the International Society of Experimental Artists and received a "Cutting Edge Award" in the ISEA 2011 juried exhibition. My work is represented in over 160 private collections throughout the U.S. and abroad.

I am currently represented by Agora Gallery, NYC; The Artists Alley Fine Art Gallery-Galiara, San Francisco, CA; Mavi Contemporary Art, Tacoma, WA and GDP Studios, Shelton, WA.
