Michael Gomez Burton has exhibited in Los Angeles including group shows in Florence, IT (2008); LA City Hall (2010; Defense Pentagon, Washington DC (VAP 2013-2014); and MUZEO Museum and Cultural Center, Anaheim CA (2015). As “artist-in-residence” by official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Department of Veterans Affairs, he provided cross cultural visual literacy and studio fine art curriculum to inpatient veterans at the West LA VA Medical Center [2011-2013]. In support of Cal Humanities Foundation ‘War Comes Home 2014’ Reading program, designed, curated, and managed the “SERVICE” exhibit series. Partnership included collaborations with cities of Camarillo, Oxnard, San Diego, and Inglewood, CA municipal public library systems [2014-2015]. He served as a grant panelist for California Arts Council (CAC) in support of its statewide and pilot launch program Veterans Initiative in the Arts (VIA) FY 2015-2016. Michael was also selected and completed ACTIVATE Cultural Policy Leadership Fellowship program 2015-2016 [ArtsforLA partnership with Los Angeles County Arts Commission]. Recent projects include 515 Gallery, Los Angeles (Somerville, 2022); Augmented Reality Los Angeles Pershing Square (Superworld, 2021); Silas Von Morrise Gallery, New York, NY (2017-2018); and LA Art Show (Los Angeles Convention Center, 2017).
