A native of New York City with a studio in Manhattan, Ellen also spends her summers working in her studio in Cheshire, Connecticut. "These watercolor and mixed media paintings reflect a convergence of traditional landscape painting and modernist pictorial exploration. I am a painter who uses layers of color to suggest real objects and places to convey a sense of space and flowing movement in the landscape. Watercolor is a medium where you can see and enjoy the process. This culminates in a richer experience for both the viewer and the artist."
