Christopher Rico, b. 1966, AZ
Christopher Rico is a South Carolina-based painter. He has exhibited work in two of the state's museums, the inaugural ArtFields art festival and the annual Artisphere festival in Greenville, SC. Additionally, he has exhibited in New York, New Orleans, Memphis, Seattle and Atlanta.
Rico's veils of thin white paint undulate and pulse against rich black backgrounds, invoking the awe and delight often felt in nature when contemplating the clouds or cosmos. His work is held in corporate collections in Memphis and Kansas City and privately held nation wide.
