This is a story of a passion for art, initially sparked in youth, submerged by years of college, graduate school, scientific and diplomacy careers, family raising, etc. and finally rekindled. How delightful that a day rarely passes without putting pigment to paper or canvas. Favored subjects include: portrait and figure, landscapes, still life. Media include: pastel, charcoal and other drawing media, watercolor, inks, oils, encaustics, terra cotta or whatever best works best for the subject. Typical of a scientist, I delight in continually exploring or creating new approaches in both technique and subject matter – always looking for that discovery that will uncover a fresh new view.
