After completing his first mural commission and having met Thomas Hart Benton when in his 20's Mark Switlik decided to paint murals as a life long endeavor. Switlik opened his studio in Phoenix in 1984. He has successfully blended his fine art training with his commercial and commission projects. Switlik has painted murals in several states as well as one foreign country. He has also worked on projects nationally with several well known artist.
Some of Switlik’s clients include The Phoenix Arts Commission, Downtown Phoenix Partnership, The Phoenix Art Museum, The Phoenix Suns, The Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Arizona Science Museum
In 2006 Mark moved his studio to the Reno, Nevada area with a focus on gallery paintings as well as murals.
