Corazon Watkins

I was born in the Philippines and worked in the U.S. Civil Service at the now abolished Clark AFB. In 1973, my husband and I moved to Oklahoma and I became a U.S. citizen in 1976. We have two daughters.

I received my MFA from the University of Oklahoma and became a full-time artist after graduation. I have been a professional artist for over 20 years and exhibiting my work both nationally and internationally. I am a member of the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, and very active in art-related projects in my community.

I enjoy doing art residencies, doing workshops to other countries of different cultures, and be able to share what I know. I consider myself a multi-media artist, doing installation, sculpture, mixed-media, and clay.

I am proud to be the recipient of several selected awards,
Merit Award,Individual Arts of Oklahoma; Merit Award,Oklahoma Centerfold; Merit Award, Oklahoma Painting Biennial IV; Merit Award, Vision Makers; Award of Excellence, Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition; NEA Fellowship in 2001.
