"I love color and my paintings are color studies," explains Abbie Kozik, pointing out the variety of themes in her paintings. A professional graphic designer for over 25 years, Abbie picked up a paint brush in 2009 to work in a direction opposite from graphic design, or, as she says, "to move away from what is linear."
"I love to paint," says Abbie. And she paints what she loves: organic textures that emerge in geometric shapes and representations of scientific and natural phenomenon, including string theories and dripping water.
"I want people to be happy when they see their favorite color on the canvas. Subject matter aside, a person's relationship with a painting always comes back to color. I want people to look closely to discover new colors and textures they didn't see on first look."
Abbie Kozik is from Honolulu. She lives and works in Denver.
