Adrienne Gaither (b. 1987, Cincinnati,OH) is a painter/digital artist and graphic designer based in Washington, DC.
She received both her BFA (2011) and MFA (2014) from Howard University. Her artwork uses color and shape to explore space by deconstructing letterforms and recomposing various ways of communicating an idea. Her works can be conceptual and narrative, serious and playful, and are distinctly constructed with influences of West African Patterns, Suprematism, Constructivism, Minimalism, the Bauhaus, and Abstract Expressionism.
Her artwork has been exhibited at Strathmore, North Bethesda, MD (2013); The Foundry Gallery, Washington,DC (2013); ; The National African American Museum and Cultural Museum, Wilberforce, OH, (2013); and Prizm Art Fair of Miami Art Basel (2014).
