Gerald Davidson

Gerald Davidson was born in Zimbabwe where he completed an apprenticeship in textile design. He has subsequently lived in England, UK, South Africa and Trinidad & Tobago. From an early age he was drawn to the arts and at various stages in his life has engaged in theater, dance, music and visual arts. He subsequently trained and worked as a freelance graphic designer for 20 years primarily in commercial settings. In 2008, shortly after moving to York, PA he began creating fine art and architectural mosaics.
Gerald's work is influenced by his African heritage, travels & cross-cultural experience as well as his commercial art background. Thriving on experimenting and exploring new ideas his work is continually evolving in style, technique and materials. His current artistic expressions provide a fresh perspective on the ancient art of mosaics.
Located in York Pennsylvania Gerald operates a full service working art studio where he provides design, fabrication and installation services to designers, architects and private clients to meet their custom mosaic artwork needs.
Since 2009 Gerald has participated in many juried arts festivals and exhibited in galleries in Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
He is a member of the Society of American Mosaic Artist (SAMA) and Contemporary Mosaic Artists (CMA).
