Alda Kauffeld was born and raised in Albania. She attended the University of Arts and Foreign Languages in Tirana, Albania and received a BA Degree in English. During the 1990s, she worked on development and relief assistance with several NGOs, the World Bank, WFP and UNHCR. Alda and family are part of the Foreign Service and have since served in Kenya (2003-2004), Sri Lanka (2004 – 2007), Washington (2007 – 2011) and now Ghana. During various assignments, Alda has worked as US Embassy CLO (4 years) in both Kenya and Sri Lanka, as Senior Program Task Manager with DCHA/DG in USAID Washington and Booz Allen Hamilton Foreign Affairs Team in McLean, Virginia. She is now working with USAID Ghana particularly on Feed the Future Program.
