Jonathan Higbee

Jonathan Higbee used to be a travel correspondent/photographer for a national American magazine. The kushy gig conditioned him to always have a camera within arm's reach. Shortly after moving to New York, that habit helped him unlock his new passion for street photography, and pursue a new (definitely not kushy) career path. Despite dozens of calls from his mother and the terrifying reality of leaving comfort and security for the competitive world of art, being behind the camera has lead to an increased sense of peace.

His work has been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles and Germany, and he's published in World Street Photography 3 from Gudberg Nerger, LensCulture, Urban Eye Magazine, the Street Photographer's Notebook from Alex Coghe, as well as Huffington Post, the Phoblographer, the Eric Kim Blog, StreetHunters and more.

"Jonathan Higbee is defined by more than his once-in-a-lifetime shot. At his core, the photographer is a New Yorker who has channeled his passion and love for the city into his own colorful, poetic style. One look at his portfolio and it’s plain to see that Jonathan Higbee, the street photographer, is also an artist. One with unwavering patience and a tireless work ethic." -Andrew Sweigart, StreetHunters
