Amy Longcope’s approach when creating a new piece is not to paint something specific, but rather to unleash her intense desire to create with beautiful colors and varied shapes that encourage and evoke meaningful thoughts in both her and the viewer.
Amy uses various mediums and gels to build layers and textures of color. During this process, countless ideas are guiding her and she trusts her intuition to lead the way, eager to see what will unfold. What follows is a mystical journey that’s guided by an artistic alchemy of curiosity, intuition, discipline and spontaneity. The end result is a vibrant abstract image, dripping with color and emotion.
In 2009 alone, Amy has participated in nine solo & group exhibitions throughout the nation. She most recently won an international competition, Art Without Borders (Juried by Peter Frank).
Amy’s award-winning work is widely shown and collected throughout the United States and Latin America.
