Amaranth Ehrenhalt was recognized as an artistically gifted child by the Philadelphia school system and was placed in a special class, Saturday mornings, at the Philadelphia Art Museum. She was a scholarship student at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and earned her BFA from the University of Pennsylvania, simultaneously attending The Barnes Foundation, one afternoon a week, completing a two-year course. She lived in Paris for many years, frequently showing with artists such as Sam Francis, Joan Mitchell, Yves Klein, et. al. She has shown in galleries and museums in the United States and Europe and has enthusiastic collectors worldwide. Ms. Ehrenhalt, an Abstract Expressionist, currently resides in New York City.
