Amie Oliver

Based in RIchmond, VA; Oliver's artwork has been exhibited in Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. Her studio practice has been supported by generous fellowship and exchange opportunities at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, the Oberfalzer Kunstlerhaus in Schwandorf, Germany, Moulin Nef in Auvillar, France, the Metasenta Foundation for a project in Tibet, China, but based in Australia and the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT. Her work was included in a one year installation at the American Embassy in Ankara, Turkey through the Art in Embassy program in the late 1990's and she has curated a number of international exchange exhibitions for university galleries and public spaces throughout Virginia. She currently sits on the Board of the not for profit contemporary art space 1708 Gallery in Richmond, VA and formerly served as a teen representative for the Board of the YWCA of Mississippi.

Amie Oliver enrolled in art classes at Delta State University as a teen and is a graduate of Bowling Green State University (MFA) and Mississippi State University (BA). She completed post grad course work at Tyler School of Art of Temple University and with Book Artist Keith Smith at the Visual Studies Workshop through the State University of New York. .
