Founder and director of the South Florida Art Institute, originally Art Institute of Miami, in 1952 Miami Florida. Elwin Porter held classes in figure painting, creative painting, photography including a sculpture dept. The school went through numerous changes through it's course of 50 years. The paintings that we have are awaiting a book about Elwin Porter his Life and Works to be published next year. Mr. Porter passed away one year ago at age 85.
Acrylic on canvas paintings-figure, abstract and landscape are currently in his studio in North Carolina.
