"My work is inspired by my exploration of the intricacies and complexities that exist within the relationship between our species and the rest of the natural world. My most recent body of work "Dominance and Affection" deals specifically with the ways in which we interact with our pets. It seems as though, today, the most intimate connection we have with nature is with those animals we have singled out and chosen to keep as companions. The intense love and affection we feel towards these creatures does not erase the fact that the success of the relationship lies in our complete domination over all aspects of their existence."

Born in Buffalo, New York, Bethany Krull received her early training in Ceramics at Buffalo State College. She went on to receive her Masters in Fine Arts from the School for American Crafts at the RIT in Rochester, New York and since then has been pursuing her work at various studios and residency programs throughout the country. . Krull's work has been included in many, regional, national and international exhibitions including, Approaching Nature, at the Mordes Collection in West Palm Beach, Florida, Bright and White, at the Mindy Solomon Gallery in St. Petersburg, Florida, The Ceramics Biennial, at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester, New Hampshire as well as the Cheonju International Craft Biennial, in Cheonju City, South Korea. Her most recent solo exhibition "Dominance and Affection, New Work by Bethany Krull" was shown at the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, New York.
