Nancy Bass

Nancy Bass’s paintings juxtapose intimate encounters and modernist abstraction to create strikingly human portrayals of farm animals.

Nancy Bass paintings have been selected for inclusion in national juried exhibitions and solo exhibitions, and acknowledged for excellence by such curators and museum professionals as Peter Schjeldahl (Art Critic, New Yorker); Cole Hendrix (curator at Asheville Art Museum). She has been an artist in residence at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Amherst, VA.

Her paintings are held by major public collections including the Emily Couric Cancer Center (Charlottesville, VA), and the Capital One Corporation (Richmond, VA). She has been a finalist in The Artist’s Magazine International Competition for the past three years and will be included in the 2013 Society of Animal Artist exhibition at The Bennington, in Bennington, VT.
